The Inuvik Ski Club hosts programs and events throughout the ski season (October/November to April/May). Events include:

  • Coaching/first-aid/officials workshops
  • Moonlight skis
  • Grooming and waxing clinics
  • Open houses
  • Loppets and races
  • Family ski days

  • The Inuvik Ski Club sends out a weekly email with updates on the Club's programs and upcoming events.

Toque Design Contest

Calling all clubs and skiers: Club members are invited to enter a contest to design the 2019 Club fundraising toque!

  • Download the attached document to draw a design illustrating “what cross country skiing means to me.” CCC will put the top designs on Facebook where CCC members will vote to decide the 2019 Club Toque design!

Please email your design to charris@cccski.com by 23:59 on April 1.

Pioneering Inuvik ski coach passes away, leaving legacy

CABIN RADIO: Bjorger Pettersen, the former Inuvik ski coach hailed as a legend of his sport, has passed away at the age of 76.

50th Anniversary Highlights

  • 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Top of the World Loppet and a great milestone in the Inuvik Ski Club’s 50+ year history. April 6-8th, 2018, races took place at the Inuvik Ski Club trails with almost 100 competitors, and a huge youth contingency. We are immensely proud of the work put into this Loppet, and of the joy and excitement experienced by the ski community over the weekend.

Cross Country Northwest Territories (CCNWT) is a non-profit volunteer organization, and serves two primary functions:

  • Territorial Sport Organization (TSO) for cross country skiing with Sport North.
  • Northwest Territories division of Cross Country Canada, the national sport governing body for cross country skiing.

The Board of Directors is already beginning to plan for next year, and we'd like your input. Now is an opportunity to tell us what was liked, loved, lacking, and how the club can meet your needs and interests in the future!

The activities of the Inuvik Ski Club take place on Treaty 11 territory, on the lands of the Gwich'in Settlement Region and of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region.
